BIO

Dr. Nora Ventosa is chemical engineer from IQS in Barcelona, Spain, and obtained the PhD in functional molecular materials from University Ramon Llull, Barcelona, Spain. She is permanent researcher at the Institut of Material Science of Barcelona (ICMAB) of CSIC and will behave as PI of CSIC team at Micro4Nano project.
ICMAB-CSIC team is devoted to the synthesis, physico-chemical characterization and development, up to pre-clinical regulatory phases, of molecular and polymeric (nano)materials for biomedical applications: (i) biomolecule and small molecule delivery, (ii) diagnosis, (iii) regenerative medicine and (iv) immunotherapy.
ICMAB-CSIC is member of the Biomedical Research Network (CIBER) in the area of Bioengineering, Biomaterials and Nanomedicine; and is awarded with the TECNIO label given to Catalan research groups with high innovative and tech transfer capacities. ICMAB is well equipped for non-GLP physico-chemical characterisation of nanoformulations and has direct access to technical services of UAB-CIE (i.e., Electron Microscopy Service). ICMAB runs the Biomaterials Processing and Nanostructuring Unit (U6) of the ICTS NANBIOSIS, which includes high-pressure equipment for non-GLP nanomedicine manufacturing, using green compressed fluids, and analytical instruments for physic-chemical characterisation. ICMAB-CSIC team are actively participating in several European Projects (i.e. Phoenix OITB (www.phoenix-oitb.eu/))
